Candle Safety | Tips

Safety is our number one priority.

Please ensure that you always follow these safety precautions to ensure your candles burn correctly and efficiently to fully enjoy your Kandilá. As you use your candles you may notice some changes to the appearance of its surface. This is normal characteristic of candles that are made from natural materials like our ECO SOY WAX and has no effect on its performance.

First Burn

Your first burn is very important. Did you know that Wax has memories. It's important that on your first burn, you want the candle to melt almost entirely as it reach the edges of the vessel. In this way, the next time you relight your candle, it will remember to melt all the way creating an even melt pool.

Trimming your candle wicks

In order to get the very best out of your candles and to ensure a clean burn, it's important to trim the wick before every burn. Having long or croocked wick can create high flames, or sooting. In order to relight your candle simply cut off the burnt bits you see at the top of the wick with some scissors or a wick trimmer. Please refrain from cutting your wick as it is very easy to cut the wick too short, ensuring 1/4 inch remains for relighting your Kandilás.

 Burning times

It is strongly advised not to burn your candle for any longer than 4 hours at a time. The ideal burning period of our 150g candles is 3-4 hours. For our sample sizes (60g) the ideal burning period is less than 2 hours. Burning for longer period of time can cause the wick to move, or even drown. Allow the melted wax to cool off for at least 2 hours before relighting. For more information; head over to our instagram page under Candle Care
